clean comfortable room.
A little hard to spot from the bypass road. A larger outdoor sign would help.
It is well-located on the Outer Banks for accessibility to all the various activities, interests, and places. Additionally, it is very clean and well kept. When I stayed as a guest (October/2012), everything seemed to have been recently refurbished. There was a new wooden deck/walkway on the building. The staff were all very polite and extremely helpful. The entire aura of the place was extremely appealing to me. In fact, when I was checking out, I told the front desk manager that I thought that I had found the new home-away-from-home for my family's future vacations to the Outer Banks. I highly recommend the Outer Banks Inn.
I did not find anything to my dissatisfaction.
A small but very friendly Hotel. Well worth looking at when booking a hotel at the Outer Banks. Extremly friendly staff, good breakfast (free). Excellent value for money.
Amenities like washer/dryer were unexpected. Nice quick breakfast. Clean room and great location.
The rooms were clean and well stocked, small but somewhat comfortable.
there was the smell of paint throughout the hotel, I assume from recent renevations. The walls seemed to be very thin because you could here all the noise from adjoining rooms
Everyone who works there is very nice and wants the best for their customers. This is a great hide away with a salt water pool! Thank you to all the staff for making my stay very enjoyable!
I enjoyed everything about my stay! the staff was super friendly and very accommodating! the beds were comfortable! and I love the fact that we had a refrigerator and microwave as well as bath and body products! the place was newly renovated and looked beautiful! we enjoyed a light continental breakfast that was pleasurable! all in all I had an excellent stay at the Outer Banks Inn and I would definitely book with this establishment again!
The staff was so friendly, everyone made us feel so welcomed. The front desk was very helpful in recommending places to visit and restaurants to try.
I was a little disappointed in the room. Other reviews said the hotel just reopened after a total renovation. Yes, it looked like it had been painted, new carpet and a new bedspread. Everything else was old; bathroom fixtures, furniture, refrigerator, etc. It was fine, but just not as nice as I had expected.
Was close and convenient to the beach and resturants. Room was clean
I didn't like the main doors to each floor being left unlock during the day. I didn't like the other guest swimwear hanging on the stairwell rails to dry. And finally i didn't like the Main door slamming shut everytime someone came in or went out (definitely hear it in your room).
Room clean and staff friendly. Contential Breakfast was small but adequate. Good Value.
The staff was very friendly and the facilities were very clean.
The rooms Could have been a little more north proof. I was able to hear Just about everything in the hallway.
It was close to the (crowded) beach
The town of Kitty Hawk is basically one long strip mall, in the midst of which is the Outer Banks Inn. The hotel, though recently refurbished, lacks an elevator. You will be carrying your own bags to your room up uneven stairways. The rooms are small. An armoire is provided, but no closet. The bed was okay, but the 2 small chairs in the room were both broken down. The small table in the room wobbled badly & could not be stabilized because it was very cheap. No desk was provided, nor was there room for one. The room compared very poorly to a standard room at Holiday Inn Express, while costing significantly more. I would not stay here again.
The price was ok, we wanted to go out of DC for a few days to the coast. We are a family with 3 children, so we went to visit the OBX but did not want to pay much. The hotel was on easy walking distance to the sea. The swimming pool was nice.
The breakfast. There is none - except for coffee and a biscuit. So you have to take into account that you would need that elsewhere, but there is enough in the neighbourhood. The main road which is very crowded, is just in front of you.
location to beach
Did not have a continental breakfast as posted. On my bedspread there was blood. Floor by air conditioner was very wet, due to air conditioner leaking. Did not clean room every day and had to ask for clean towels. Was given a room that was already occupied. I opened the door and there was a family inside. And last the staff was not friendly to me or my children. I will never go there again.
